King Neptune Statue stands at 31st Street beside Neptune Festival Park. The Virginia tourism board describes the bronze figure as 24 feet tall and weighing 12 tons, making it a prominent landmark on the route.

Other stops are spread along the numbered streets. Oceanfront stages stand at 7th, 17th, 24th and 31st Streets. At 40th Street, Grommet Island Park is an accessible beach-themed playground for children of all abilities.

Atlantic Fun Park at 15th Street is a seasonal amusement park with go-karts and midway-style games. Its operating schedule can vary, so check the official site before you go.

Walking, cycling and beach access

Walking, cycling and beach access

Walk the promenade, or use its separate bike path if you’re cycling. City rules allow bicycles and surreys only on the bike path, while rollerblades and skates are restricted to the Boardwalk.

E-bikes are prohibited on the Boardwalk, its bike path, the adjacent grassy area, and Oceanfront parks and plazas. In the Resort Area, bicycles and e-bikes are also prohibited on sidewalks. The city defines this area as running from the sidewalk on the west side of Pacific Avenue to the Atlantic Ocean, between Rudee Inlet and 42nd Street.

Where e-bikes are permitted, riders must yield to pedestrians, signal audibly before passing and dismount if needed to avoid contact. Non-permitted or service-related personal motorized devices are prohibited on the beach and Boardwalk, with an exception for disabled persons.

Accessible wooden walkways extend from the Boardwalk toward the water at 8th, 17th, 24th, 30th and 40th Streets. The guide to getting around Virginia Beach from the Oceanfront covers movement through the district.
